Medical Degree Final Thesis (TFG)
Title: Experimental Evaluation of Dehydration and Rehydration Methods in Formalin‑Fixed Tissues for Anatomical Studies.
Experimental study evaluating alternative dehydration (96% ethanol, sodium chloride, refrigeration) and rehydration techniques (distilled water, tris‑buffered saline) in animal and human tissues preserved with formaldehyde or ethanol‑acetic acid‑glycerin solutions. Demonstrated superior preservation of tissue morphology, translucency, and volume recovery using 96% ethanol dehydration followed by TBS rehydration, particularly in small intestine and fetal limb samples. Findings support reduction of formaldehyde reliance in anatomical specimen preservation.
